A busy week.
After meandering through Alberta I made my way to Andrea's. I'm not going to talk a lot about my driving trip, just know that it was really hard. And I have no desire to do it again. I'm here and that's what matters.
I've spent the week looking at different places to live in Kelowna and in Vernon. Between travelling back and forth and the errands we've been running, almost every minute has been accounted for. That's what happens when you visit Andrea, because she's busy and there's always lots to do. The good news is: We found a place!! It's the top floor of a yellow house, it has a large covered deck and huge fenced in back yard. The house itself isn't the hugest, but everything is nice and in new condition. The landlords are nice which is also important, although I don't think we'll ever have anyone as nice as the ones we have now in Winnipeg, who also gave us a great reference. Now that that's done, we can relax and enjoy ourselves more. Hopefully the weather will comply because it has been a lot colder than I had anticipated and I want to spend hours at the beach being lazy. Andrea has been a huge help- watching the kids for me while I look at places or else convincing one of her children to do it so that she could come with me. It would have been a lot harder if I had had to bring them.
Last night we went up to the ski resort at Silver Star where Redfish played. I got in free being the date of one of Dean's bandmates. We got special treatment. We got to hang out in the green room where there was food (not that great, but that's ok) and we got food vouchers to get something from the vendors. Apparently this is usual treatment for Andrea and Dean, but when Kyle was in a band, I was no so lucky. It was a music festival. Andrea and I got donairs. They were good, it was no Laura donair, but still good. Andrew baby sat for me. It was nice to get away from the kids for some adult time. The band was really good too, although it did get freezing cold up there and I was wearing flip flops and had to cover up my outfit with a hoodie.
Today Adriel and I are going to check out our new ward. Sloan's going to stay home and have a nap. Darn ward starts a one. Worst time ever, if you have napping children. I'm nervous about it. I usually at least have Kyle when attending a new ward, this time I just have Adriel. yikes.
