My Birthday among other things
I thought I should post about my birthday. I'm 27 now. Yuck. Kyle had ordered my present online. It came a few weeks before my birthday in a tall slim box. I had no idea what it was. It stood in a corner in our room during that time and every couple of nights Kyle asked if I wanted to open my present early. I'm not that sort of person. I like to get presents on my birthday otherwise there's nothing to look forward to other than getting older.

So on the morn of my birthday Kyle dragged the box out into the living room, got me a knife and I went to it. It was a snowboard and boots! I was so surprised!! No, I'm not good at snowboarding but I've always wanted to be, and last Feb when we went together, I made a lot of progress and I really wished we could keep it up because I didn't want to lose the progress I had made. I never dreamed I'd have my own board and so soon too. It's really pretty. I took some pictures of it before I put it back in the box. Is there snowboarding around Winnipeg, you ask? Kyle looked into it and apparently there is. That's all I know though, I don't know where. My boots are white with pink and gray. It was exciting. I admired the board all day.

I met Ann at the park. The kids played. I followed Sloan around. He has no fear. He climbs things that are really high and pushes past all the big kids to go down slides that they are blocking. Ann offered to take Adriel home with her to give me a "birthday break" while Sloan was sleeping. She suggested that I take the opportunity to pack. I had a nap instead. What? It was my birthday. Adriel had his first swimming lessons that night, which he loved, and then we went out for dinner at Montana's. I was convinced to let them put the crazy hat with horns on and sing to me for the entertainment of my kids. They did think it was pretty cool and luckily it was over fast. I don't like the limelight. The kids were actually well behaved at the restaurant thanks to the things Ann brought for them to play with. Adriel went home with Ann and we came home to our house. Kyle went out and got a cheesecake from a grocery store bakery with fresh fruit on top and a box of "delectables" which were little mini desserts to try. We didn't even get to that box though, I was full after the cheesecake which wasn't that good. No Bethany cheesecake, that's for sure. Mmmm I could go for a maple one. We watched movies and went to bed.

And that about sums up the 27th birthday. It was fun and good and a big step up from last year!!!

Adriel has been at Ann's ever since. I see him during the day as we do different activities, but he never wants to come home with me. Ann's all too happy to have him, she does a lot of fun things with him. They are really going to miss each other. I'm a little sad that he doesn't want to come home and I miss him, but at the same time I figure he may as well get his fill. Poor Sloan misses him too.

I have been spending my spare time packing and sorting. I can't believe how much has to be done in so little time. I have 19 days left. That's not even three weeks!! We don't even have a place to live!! I sure wish I had a Mudsy here to help me! It's  a little stressful and I try not to think about what little time I have left here with my friends and with Katie. We've been squeezing in as much fun time together as we can...
