Today was the first time in Adriel's life the he preferred Kyle to me. He actually cried for Kyle while I had him. Im ok with it. It was bound to happen at some point. As the mom I often have to do the dirty work, like change the diaper when he doesnt want to be changed, wipe the dirty face and hands, wipe the boogie, and put to bed. This morning he was crying in his crib quite hard when Kyle went in and rescued him. He earned the hero roll. Im glad though because Adriel has been such a mamma's boy that Kyle always thinks he doesnt like him. Now he knows that he does love his daddy, not to mention that dada has been his first word. Im not sure he knows what it means, but he says it. Thats not fair. Im the one who carried him for nine months, Im the one who went through tremendous pain and pushed him out, Im the one who stayed up with him in the night, Im the one who feeds him (real food and nursing), Im the one who plays with him all day. Im not complaining about those things, all Im saying is why shouldnt I be the favourite, and why shouldnt mama be the first thing he says, since I repeat it to him all the time?? Oh well.

Work today. Its just me today, the other stylists got to go to victoria for an updo class. Im jealous. I couldnt leave Adriel for the whole day...well maybe I could have if I had more notice. I just found out about it on Saturday. I love updo's. Im always excited to learn new things. Ok gotta get ready.

Well, its happened. I started work last week. Its been good. I was really sad about starting, before I went for the first time. Sad about leaving my baby and things. But once I got to work things were fine. I mean, the people I work with are so nice, and I like doing hair, its not a chore, its fun. My first client had hair down to her waist and it was at least twice as thick as mine. I colored it and cut it and straightened it and it took me the full four hours of work. It was fun. We got along well and she loved her hair when I was done. I felt rather satisfied when I went home. Tired too. The other days were much less busy though, and things did get sort of boring. There wasnt much to do, and I wasnt sure what to do with myself. Im always afraid that if I dont do anything people think im slacking off. Im not used to such a laid back environment.

I got sunburnt playing soccer yesterday. We played from 11am to 1:15ish. It was fun, but I was ready to go at around twelve. Here are the things that happened to my body this week:

-Evan and I ran toward the same air ball and collided, he landed on my ankle and my torso had a violent twist in the air before I landed on my stomach totally winded. I could barely let everyone know I was ok. Today Im quite sore on one side and not very bendy. I knew at the time of the twist that it wasnt going to be nice.

-I was trying to get the ball from Chris Russell and our feet smashed together as he was kicking with much force. My big toe got the blunt of it. Today its red and very swollen with purple streaks through out. So swollen in fact, that I cant really bend it.

-I blocked two of Ryan Hartford's shots on net (yes he's back in town if ya didnt know) with the portion of thigh right above both knees. The ball hit so hart that it left welts and bruises on my skin.
That's it for now. I really do love playing though. I wish I could play everyday.

Today Esther and I went to the Latin Dance class at the gym who was taught by Sara Raymond of all people! It wasnt too long ago that Bethany and I were reminiscing about when her and Amy were in grade 4 and I was in grade 7 and our classrooms were across from eachother. They had some art work hanging up in the hall and I took the liberty of adding an 'h' to the end of Sara's name, which apparently really bothered her. Anyway- LOVED the class. It was sooooo fun!!! It wasnt like a work out at all. We learned choreography for different songs and did them and it was fun. We learned the cha cha cha and the salsa. I must say that Esther of course is a natural. She nows how to move the hips.

Went to Catharine Morely's shower tonight. It was difficult with Adriel there, but I still had a nice time. I didnt get to see her open my gift though, which kind of sucked. Oh well. She said she liked it.

Hmmm...What else? I dont know. I didnt do my hair today. Im trying to learn how to embrace it's unruliness. Ya thats about it.

Well its about time I post again, hey? Im sorry. Life has been busy and full. When I get time on the computer I'd rather read other people's blogs than write about my life.

I had a nice mother's day. Kyle got up with Adriel in the morning, as Adriel has made a habit of waking between 6 and 6:30. I have been exhausted. Adriel and Kyle got me some jogging pants. They're grey and tight and flare out at the bottom. Kyle thinks Im sexy in them. Im not so sure grey is a flattering colour on me. They're really comfy though. He has a thing about grey sweat pants, I dont know. We went to Katie and brents in the afternoon and spent the day with them. Ann came too. Couldnt leave her alone on mother's day. We had a big feast of homemade buns and burgers, baked beans, a really yummy salad and chips. The burgers were so good, I had two and was stuffed for the rest of the night. We visited and the brent cleaned up. Katie showed me pictures of Michealah when she was a baby. So cute!!! Then we went to pipers because its tradition now. We took some pics and played tag with the girls. Kyle was funny running as fast as he could while holding Adriel at the same time and his bum showing distinctly in his pajama pants with each stride. We went back to Katie's and watched the survivor finale. All in all in was a good day. It's so nice to have family near by to have fun with. I hope we'll always have that.
Here's the pics: Arent Katie and I pretty mothers on mother's day??
