A busy week.
After meandering through Alberta I made my way to Andrea's. I'm not going to talk a lot about my driving trip, just know that it was really hard. And I have no desire to do it again. I'm here and that's what matters.

I've spent the week looking at different places to live in Kelowna and in Vernon. Between travelling back and forth and the errands we've been running, almost every minute has been accounted for. That's what happens when you visit Andrea, because she's busy and there's always lots to do. The good news is: We found a place!! It's the top floor of a yellow house, it has a large covered deck and huge fenced in back yard. The house itself isn't the hugest, but everything is nice and in new condition. The landlords are nice which is also important, although I don't think we'll ever have anyone as nice as the ones we have now in Winnipeg, who also gave us a great reference. Now that that's done, we can relax and enjoy ourselves more. Hopefully the weather will comply because it has been a lot colder than I had anticipated and I want to spend hours at the beach being lazy. Andrea has been a huge help- watching the kids for me while I look at places or else convincing one of her children to do it so that she could come with me. It would have been a lot harder if I had had to bring them.

Last night we went up to the ski resort at Silver Star where Redfish played. I got in free being the date of one of Dean's bandmates. We got special treatment. We got to hang out in the green room where there was food (not that great, but that's ok) and we got food vouchers to get something from the vendors. Apparently this is usual treatment for Andrea and Dean, but when Kyle was in a band, I was no so lucky. It was a music festival. Andrea and I got donairs. They were good, it was no Laura donair, but still good. Andrew baby sat for me. It was nice to get away from the kids for some adult time. The band was really good too, although it did get freezing cold up there and I was wearing flip flops and had to cover up my outfit with a hoodie.

Today Adriel and I are going to check out our new ward. Sloan's going to stay home and have a nap. Darn ward starts a one. Worst time ever, if you have napping children. I'm nervous about it. I usually at least have Kyle when attending a new ward, this time I just have Adriel. yikes.

as soon as you said yellow house you sold me :) Something about yellow houses that I love. Glad you found one. must be a huge stress off the old shoulders. can't wait to come visit :) Hope your new ward was good and you like it. Summer is hard to check out new wards.

yay, I'm glad you fond your house, that must be such a relief! Now you can relax and enjoy the rest of your summer. My first sunday in WL I was alone. It wasn't that fun. But it has to be got through. I tried to call you the other night but you must have been at silver star. No fair--off having fun when I try to call you. who do you think you are?

I SOOOOOO hear you with 1:00 church. We have 1:00 church this year and it totally sucks because that is right when Bethany usually naps....more often than not she doesn't nap and is SOOOO overtired by the time that church is over she is a monster!

I'm glad that you found a place to live....hooray and hooray for family helping you out!

i am so excited to hang out at your new house! and have bbq's on the deck. woooo!!!

I also wonder about were exactly this new house is. Congrats! It must feel so nice to not have to worry about that.
