Since no one else is updating, I suppose I shall...
Tonight is my fist activity with the activity day girls. It's not going to anything much. Just some planning ideas and some getting to know you games. Treats. I felt I needed to get an activity in before I leave for my trip. I leave on Tuesday!!! I feel like its so soon, (well it is, it's less than a week) and I feel like there are a lot of things I have to do and should do before I go, yet I feel like it's not coming fast enough. Make sense?

The cold is getting worse and snow is starting to come this week. There's a light dusting on the grass, and the wind blows it around the road. It looks like this white misty powder. It's sort of mesmerizing if you're not used to it. I'm glad to be escaping it all, even if only for rain, at least I wont die. Oh the things I want to do and the people I want to spend time with and the hair I have to do. I hope I can fit it all in without it being too stressful.

Our date on Friday night was SOOO nice! We went to Joey's. It's this classy restaurant that we first met in Calgary and loved. When we got there, Kyle asked to be seated in his friend, Kevin's section. Kevin is his friend from school. Kevin's section was busy and we were told we'd have to wait 35 mins. Kyle said ok before I could object. He said he didn't really care about waiting, but that he just wanted to be layed back and spend time together. So we went for a walk out into the cold. Joeys is located in a strip mall thing. We went to Indigo Books. We admired many a book and even bought a couple for Christmas gifts. Book stores are fun when you don't children with you. We ventured back and waited a while longer. Kevin was nice. He remembered my name and kept calling me Sarah as if we knew each other. He got us free virgin margaritas. Mine was raspberry. Kyle's was strawberry and we agreed that mine was better. Tart vs sweet. We got this delicious warm crab and goat cheese dip to start. So good. I got a prawn curry bowl and kyle got a rotisserie chicken with sundried tomato gravy. Mine came out with a cylindrical tower of rice in the middle and cilantro on top. It did not disappoint. Kyles was good. Nothing that crazy good though. By the time we ate and everything (service took a long time) it was time for us to go and get the kidlets. It was just nice to have a little break and enjoy that time together. How did Jill know?

On another note, I was sort of thinking maybe we could possibly get a puppy. Am I crazy? I know I've been anti getting a dog for a long time. I like dogs but they are stinky, they bark and wake up sleeping children, their hair gets every where and i would have to house train it and worry about it wrecking stuff. I've always felt like I couldn't handle that in my life. "Maybe one day", I'd tell Kyle. Kyle has wanted to get a dog for a long time. So my thoughts have been this- The kids would love it. Sloan's getting older, and we aren't planning on another baby yet, so maybe this would be a good time to get a dog? I don't know. I'm not saying we're going to get one or anything, but now I got Kyle excited and he's already started looking on Kijiji. It would be a fun Christmas present for the boys. What has come over me?

The Smiths, some people from our branch, have a dog that they got when it was a puppy and it grew up with their boys. Kids can do anything to it--poke it's eye, pull it's ears and tail, climb all over it, and it lets them. It even likes it. So I think it's good to get a puppy while you have young kids.

your date sounded real nice. yummy food. A lot of things are fun without kids, huh?

i have been behind on reading and commenting. i just read everything that i hadn't read. you've been busy!! i am excited for you making a trip home to the island, although i wish you were coming to vernon seeing as how i didn't get to see you when you came through! i love the red, at least what i can see of it in that picture. your boys look adorable in their costumes - i love that skeleton one! they're such cute boys!!!

and... i want to come and visit you in winnipeg. really bad.

Eryn! I would love it if you came!!! You're welcome anytime!

Puppies are just like kids... you love them like crazy and they drive you crazy!!

ohh a dog would be so great! and I agree with 'fub, especially if you get a dog that's traditionally gentle with children. That's exciting. I hope you get one :)

That's so funny - Joey's was our favourite restaurant in Edmonton. And I always ordered the panang prawn curry bowl. Maybe Kevin can get you the recipe?? :)

I love my Jodi and I sure have never regretted getting her. Just be careful and get a good dog. One who is smart and obedient. Disobedient dogs are just not worth it! Puppies are a lot of work for the first year but if you do the work, then you have a great dog for the rest of its life.
