Bathroom Conversations
This morning Sloan brought his sleepy little fleece onesied body into bed and we cuddled while he fell back to sleep. I just love cuddling with him when he's wearing the one piece zip up jammies. they just feel so cute in those. He's getting so big, this will probably be his last year in those kinds of jammies. He was suddenly awake, because he had to go to the bathroom. He mumbled something about poop on his way out. Naturally, I stayed in bed. I rolled over and resumed my usual position when I don't have to share my space with sloan. but of course, that didn't last. He called for help. You see, that's the downside of the super cute soft fleecey footed onesies. they require assistance.
Turns out he had some bowel issues. His tummy was hurting and as he was going he was saying things under his breath. then he'd fall to the floor and collapse on his tummy and say he was dead. I would wipe him and then he'd get up and say he had more. after collapsing on the floor for a second time claiming he was dead, I thought he was done and flushed and pulled up his underwear. Nope he had more. He did the deed and slumped back on the floor. then as expected he got up and said no and got back on the toilet, and through much concentration he explained "It needs a family."
I thought that was pretty hilarious. so he gave it a family. and that was it. the things a parent has to do are often unpleasant, but when your child lets you get a sneak peak at the things that go on their amazing little brains, it's worth it. where do they come up with this stuff? when Adriel was around that age, he told me he didn't have any pee because his penis needed new batteries...
we got back into bed and cuddled some more. He kept saying "I wove you Mommy"and snuggling in closer. the feeling's mutual, kid!

so my hair is purple now. I went ahead and put purple and copper peak a boos in my hair. the purple was a new color line I hadn't tried but heard was good for fun colors. It was a stain type of thing. It got everywhere. all over my hands, all over Kyle's hands as he put some foils in the back for me. when it was all ready to come out, I rinsed in the sink. the lady at the store told me to rinse with cold water to stop it from fading out too fast. so I rinsed with cold water, and conditioned, so as to not wash too much out of my hair, and wrapped it up in a towel. then I took the towel off and gasped. It looked like a really bad dye job. there were dark purple parts, and then the rest of my hair looked light purple. ahh! what have I done? I started panicking a little on the inside. I couldn't even really deal with it right away because I had to help Kyle push the truck around and try and jump start it because the battery wasn't working. I'll admit, my heart wasn't in it, I just wanted to tend to my hair. I went inside, pulled my clothes off and jumped in the shower and proceeded to shampoo my hair six or seven times with much vigor. each time as I rinsed the bubbles out, they were purple. they gradually got lighter and lighter. I conditioned a few times, because my poor hair had been through a lot at this point. when I got out, all had been restored. well there are a few ends that are little light purple, but it's not nearly as bad as I thought. In fact, I quite like it. My hair needed something done to it to freshen it up. My only complaint is that the copper could be more vibrant. I just used some old stuff that I had, and to be honest, I didn't really remember the exact shade of copper, so oh well. It's a more natural shade.
we're off to the island today for thanksgivin fun. I'm looking forward to it, and with that I should go and prepare...
