Just a casual post
Picture Adriel grabbing Sloans head and shoving it towards the mic and trying to force him to sing Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam and then Adriel doing wild head banging moves during the other primary songs, and that about sums up my children's performances in the primary presentation today.
Sloans only involvement in the presentation was to sing that song with his class, and he was too shy. Enter big brother Adriel to save the day (well that's what he thought he was doing) ah well.
Last weekend we went to see Sloan the band. Weird things always happen to me when I go to concerts. It was Evan and Esther, Douglas and Kyle and I. Douglas and I got IDed. The others did not. Evan shoved a guy that took my spot and moved me back to my spot. Just one hard shove, and that was it. It may have been the highlight of my night. One guy got close behind me and asked me to dance with him. I said no. Another guy tried to push his way in front of me to which I responded "dude, that's not cool" and he eventually left. I also got an elbow to the head during the beginning of Money City Maniacs. They were good though, and we had fun, and I felt enlightened about them because I'd never really put faces to the songs of theirs that I like.
Beforehand we went to eat at the ghost Korean place that Kyle and evan ate at once last year. No one knew where exactly it was, or what it was called. we drove around all cramped in Evan's new jetta for a long time before we found it. I was admittedly grouchy about the whole thing. turned out it was called Japanese Korean food, or the other way around, I don't remember, but when googling japanese or korean food, it didnt show up. we got the all you can eat korean bbq. It was good. the whole time Kyle was stressing because he had bought our tickets on his phone and he had received the confirmed email for it and he couldnt find it anyway. Like it had disappeared. He tried to get proof of purchase on his credit card, and things. He was on the phone the whole time we were eating. as we got back into the car, there was still no sign of solving the problem, when esther decided to pay attention to the problem and said "are you sure they didn't text it to your phone?" sure enough that's where it was...after all that stress, and draining everyone's phones of their battery power.
when we got out and walked to the parkade, we learned that it was closed at midnight. it was 12:15. we had to pay a $50 fee to get the car out. evan called, we all pitched in our money. as we were waiting it we realized that there were also people living about the parkade and they had access to opening the gate. someone came out, we stood in the way off the gate so it wouldn't close and evan made a run for it. (just so you know, my left shift key stopped working, so that's why there aren't capitals some times. I mean no disrespect) we got out with out having to pay. a while later someone phoned evan's phone and they were mad and hung up on him about the whole thing.
we got a new bunny. she's a chocolate angora. Her name is Truffles Burt Stratton. the kids and I call her truffles. Kyle tries to call her burt. He wanted to name her Burtuns. Adriel really wanted to to call her chocolate. we compromised with truffle-burt. I love her.
