Puddles + me = enemies
What is it about boys and mud puddles? There's a magnetic attraction that pulls the two together, and apparently it cant be broken. You can try but it won't work. Instead you stand there and watch helplessly and your sons jump into gross dirty water and you cringe. It's not as bad if they are wearing appropriate boots, but even then, I can't help but cringe. They don't step carefully in either. They slosh through splashing as much as possible. Right now at Adriel's school there are giant deep puddles under each swing. The swings happen to be Sloan's favorite. He wants me to push him on them everyday. If Sloan steps in the puddle, the whole bottom part of his boot is swallowed up by water. *cringe* Then there's the fun straddling of the super wide puddle that I have to do in order to get him on the swing. There's slushy snow surrounding the puddle threatening to take me down, and soak me and humiliate me. I hate having wet feet.

woo hoo
Tonight Becky showed us a very fun tobogganing hill. Its in Westbank. We packed up and went after dark. It was sooooo fun and exhilarating. I haven't been to a hill that steep ever. Well there were steep parts and not as steep parts and then after you go down the main big one, there were other little ones. It was complex. And totally fun. I was scared to go down the steep one at first. It is SO steep!!! Like straight down. But, Kyle dragged me and away I went, and after that I was hooked. Becky and I kept going over and over. The hike back up was quite exhausting and I had to tote Sloan up a few times which about killed me. Kyle couldn't do much because his knee is still hurt. After a few runs he was done. When we got home, it was way past bedtime and the kids conked out pretty fast. Fun. I'm glad we finally have some snow and it's not too freezing to play in. Adriel was so excited to get to try out his new snowboard he got for Christmas. He spent a good bulk of the time practicing that at a much less steep area. I admired his determination. Falling and getting snow in his face did not seem to discourage him at all.
This week was a busy one, but it was good. At our soccer game on Tuesday, we won 9-5. I don't want to toot my own horn, but I scored 4 times. It's been a really long time since that's happened. I don't get to play forward all the time. It was so fun. I was in my element. I felt the need to mention it on here, because who else can I tell? I'm allowed to be a little proud about that right?
Today was a relief society activity, and a birthday party for Adriel and a dentist appointment for Kyle and I watched Nathan (Becky's son) in the morning...Sometimes I just wish for a day that we don't have anything we have to do. It seems every weekend usually gets busy and it's over too fast. I like being busy and having fun things to do, but I like a down day too.
Bed time for me- this 9am church is taking some getting used to. I like to have time to primp. 9am doesn't allow for that.

Today I:
-got out of bed
-took Adriel to school
-picked up whole wheat flour to make bread on the way home
-started the bread
-worked on room project (I'll show pics when I'm done)
-dishes
-laundry
-started turkey soup
-put Sloan down for a nap
-read scriptures
-ate lunch while watching the bachelor (judge me if you must)
-read some blogs and checked email
-woke up Sloan to get Adriel
-stopped at Walmart on the way home for supplies for my room project
-baked bread
-supplies didn't really work for room project, grrrr
-vacuumed
-took breaks from vacuuming to deal with fighting children
-mopped
-took breaks from mopping to deal with fighting children (uuuuugh!)
And that brings me to now. Oh wait, I was just asked to go and wipe a bum.
And, that's my life folks. Not all that interesting to write about, unless really fun things happen in which I get too busy to actually write about them...It's a little overwhelming.
On another note, among my new years resolutions is my goal to run the Seattle half marathon in June. I already knew I wanted to do this before the new year, but I waited for the new year to start running. Right now I'm just getting my body used to running, because I haven't really ran in a long time. (other than soccer) This means running outside in the freezing cold. I actually don't mind it though. I just get bundled up. I find it peaceful, a chance to think and get away from it all. What I mean by "it all" is the above mentioned day I've had so far. If I were to finish the list according to the way a typical day goes it would go like this
-make dinner
-feed family
-clean up after dinner
-stories/ tv time for kids
-jammies
-brush teeth
-bed
-go back and forth giving Sloan more hugs and kisses and drinks and putting his blankets back on, answering whether or not the door is locked (something he checks every night, so the kangaroos can't come in) until he finally gives in to sleep.
-watch tv with Kyle
-Bed
But tonight I have a soccer game which means I get to leave before the bed part. Yay.
