Kangawoos
I'm annoyed that there's something dirty on my shirt after I just washed it, as in, whatever it is, it didn't come out. This annoys me.
Sloan thinks deer are kangaroos. One night as we were leaving Chris and Kimme's in Nanaimo, there were a lot of deer hanging around. For some reason this really spooked him. Now his constant fear is that a Kangaroo is going to get him. He hurries from the car to the house for this reason. He also asks me a lot if there are kangaroos outside while we're driving and various times while we're outside. He says "Kangawoos no eat me?" He tells me that they're hiding and sometimes he pretends that a kangaroo is eating me. Silly boy.
Last night we had some company for dinner. Vanessa and Jesse. They're from Calgary. Kyle and Jesse were in the same ward at one point in Kyle's youth. Vanessa befriended me at church. She also saved me from Sloan in nursery. I like her, she's really nice. They have twin girls in between Sloan and Adriel's ages. Their girls are very timid and quiet. Maybe they aren't always like that, but they were while at our house. Sloan and Adriel on the other hand were so loud, rambunctious and kept fighting over toys. Sloan would have these scream-crying out bursts. He must have been tired, because he's not always that bad. I'm sure we made them feel glad that they had girls. I made ribs. There were two different kinds. One was a recipe from Jordan from way back before kids (feels like a long time ago) called "Freakin Good Ribs." It's an old faithful recipe that we enjoy. The other one I tried for the first time that I got online called Sweet and Tangy Carribean Ribs. They had special rub and then an orange/lime juice sauce. They were both good. I tricked our friends into thinking I'm a good cook. We visited for a while and then they had to leave due to bed time. It was a good time. Kyle and Jesse have a lot in common. Jesse is an electrical engineer. They have many similar interests.
Speaking of Kyle, this summer we really got into the new Ron Sexsmith album. We both think he's really talented and this is our favourite album so far. I think you should check it out. You won't regret it (unless your Andrea, and find his style too mellow) It's called Late Bloomer.
The Bethaneezer is coming today for a visit and I'm anxiously awaiting her arrival. It's going to be a week of sister fun I hope.
