A you're the Arab in the sky
Well as you all know we've been having fun here in Utah. Laura's done a pretty good job keeping you all up to date about the going ons around here.

Today Slavica left. She found out just after we got here that her sister who had been begging for her to come to Calgary bought her a ticket with out telling her beforehand. So, John was gone the whole week on a business trip (he'll get back tomorrow after we leave) and Slavica left too. Nice, huh? Normally we'd head over to Karen's which is our next stop, but she asked us to stay and keep an eye on the kids. You know, make dinner for them, make sure they do their homework, push them down the stairs when they're bad- stuff like that. Auntie stuff. So that's what we've been doing today. We made lime chicken. It's in the oven right now. The recipe seemed good, as butter and brown sugar were a part of it, and so how could it not be good??

Last night we went to Christian's children's choir performance. There were 400 children in his choir and they sounded really good. Their songs were short, they didn't drag on, and they were catchy and it was over in less than an hour. That's my kind of consert. When we got up to leave, the lady behind me asked me if my son's name is Adriel. I said yes and then she told me that was her husband's name and that she'd never heard it anywhere else before. I haven't really heard of anyone else having that name before either, other than a black-ish family that Andrea told me about. So, there! It IS a boy's name to everyone who thinks it's girlie. hmph. Then we went to this frozen yogurt place called Tummy Yummy's. They have these frozen yogurt taps and you can mix and match whatever you want. Then theres a station with toppings and sauces and you put what you want on it and pay by weight. Mine was really good. I got a cheesecake and raspberry kind swirled together and added graham cracker crumbs, raspberries, little bit of oreo, heath bar (which is like skor, and which I thought said health bar and that threw me off) and caramel sauce and sweetened condensed milk. Laura's was really good too. Of course it included peanut butter sauce among other things. When we came home we found a very overwhelmed Alysha who is running for secretary at her school and needed to make some posters for her campain. The night before, Laura took a picture that she haf taken of her and Brenna and cut Brenna out of it and edited it to the best of her ability on an online site and we got it printed off a walmart for her posters. Well, she wasn't happy with it because you could see a few minor blemishes on her face, of which she referred to as "acne". We decided to help her with the posters seeing as it was already 9:30 and we've learned that it takes Alysha forever to do anything.

So, out came all this fun craft stuff and Laura and I set to work creating a masterpiece, in which I convinced Alysha to let us put her picture on it. We had so much fun doing it! There was a bright yellow boa, purple and orange ribbon, shiny silver 3D stars an acronym of her name, sparkles., etc. Creating stuff like that is just so fun for both of us and I think we make a pretty good team. While we worked, Alysha did one, and Slavica helped with one too. The atmosphere changed from stress to enjoyment. We stayed up to the wee hours of the morning working on it and went to bed deliriously tired knowing that we had to get up early to take Slavica to the bus depo and Alysha to school. Laura ended up doing both of those, but I got up because I thought I would have to drive Alysha.

Today was more of a meh day. We checked out the Logan mall and found nothing to our liking. We went to tjmaxx which is supposedly like a winners, which we found to by cheapy in quality and not a lot of cute things. I however, bought a shirt and Laura succumbed yet again to some soft flip-flops. Now we both have two pairs from this trip. We're done with the shoes.

That about brings you up to date. I really miss my Sloanie woan. I can't think about it too much.

I forgot to mention that I've done four haircuts since I've been here and have more to go...
