It's Official
Summer is officially gone. I don't want to be the wet blanket, but it's true and we can't deny it any longer. Last night we were out. I got cold. Can't just be out in the evening with out a jacket or anything anymore. Need sleeves or something. Last night was not the best, if you must know. It included Kyle convincing me to tag along on a qualicum job he had to finish up which took longer than he thought it would. Adriel, Sloan and I had to make due outside of the house, and there was nothing to do. At least not after an hour or so...Then when Kyle was just finishing up the contractor (big loser, apparently) showed up and just talked to Kyle about nothing important for a long time and it seemed blatant to me. Like he knew we were waiting for Kyle. Wife, three year old and baby, HELLO!! Just sitting in the car, going crazy. It was almost like he did it because he could. Because Kyle couldn't be rude and just leave, he had to be polite and appease him. When Kyle got into the car I was SO mad. It was almost 7 and we hadn't even had dinner yet! Then Kyle told me about working for this slimey guy had been like. Made me dislike him way more. And feel bad for Kyle who had to deal with him...
Anyway, I came on here to make brief mention of the wonderful weekend I had. It started out with getting ready for my birthday present photo shoot with Laura. Bethany and I got dressed up, and I tried to look pretty... (try to look pretty for the picture, Amy, try REALLY hard!- that just went through my head, sorry) I think/hope I did alright. One thing about pictures is that they show you what you really look like, and sometimes you're in denial until then. Like when I was pregnant with Adriel and I hadn't realized just how puffy and chubby I'd gotten til the twins took some pictures of me. I may as well face who I am right now and love myself right? It was a bit of a rushed photo shoot because I had to get Adriel home for his nap. During his nap time we played a little rock band, Lurfapalooza was in the house after all. Her, Kyle and Bethany and I played. Lurfa had some trouble with her guitar to begin with (she was holding it backwards and upside down-a little mudsy-ish if you ask me- and it took us a while to figure it out) and Bethany and I switched for the singing. Kyle was on the drums of course. Then Kyle had to go rock climbing. So we started out with the picture/story making. We had some good ones. I'm assuming Laura took them because they aren't anywhere to be seen at my house. Then Laura had to leave for Katie's family photo shoot. Bethany and I popped in some gilmore girls, not ashamed to spend some time watching. We bond over watching things. After Kyle got back her and I went out to get the beloved ABBA singstar and some socks for Owen and something for dinner. We were successful at all three, and it was fun. I don't know why, it just was. The sun was shining. Turned out I didn't have to buy new mics for the singstar (because my mics are ps2 mics, and the singstar was for ps3 so I thought I might have to buy new ones which I thought would be dumb) and the socks were unusually over priced because they were from shoppers drugmart. Ok, so overpriced socks aren't that fun, but I didn't have to buy them, right? And they were cute, they were different shades of tan and cream and they said bambino on the bottoms. So at least they were cute. Then I got Quizno's for Kyle and I, and Bethany got pita pit. I got the prime rib on garlic bread for Kyle and of course, the chicken carbonara for myself. Kyle and I ended up giving each other half of our sandwiches which was delishus.
Later that night, Laura and Katie came over with some munchies and Kyle was banished to the bedroom. He banished himself, I'm not that mean of a wife. He went and rented a movie and got himself a bunch of treats. So don't feel sorry for him. He watched it on his laptop. We played singstar and it did not disappoint. After a few rounds, wet blanket bethany was tired of it so we did more story/pictures. Everyone did their fair share of genius stories and we laughed. Well I did, I know some people didn't. (laughed, I mean) There was chocolate, and at one point, when I wasn't paying attention, Sloan managed to creep across the couch to where my two chocolate squares were sitting. Later Katie casually called him chocolate boy and to my horror, I looked down at him and he was clutching a piece of chocolate in each fist, chocolate all around his mouth, chocolate dripping down his cute light yellow sleeper. Ahh! My attempts to keep him away from chocolate alas, have failed. They got to know each other at a young age.
It was after midnight and everyone left.
We all got together again after naps on Sunday. By naps, I don't mean Bethany and I, nope we didn't get naps. Our kids wouldn't let us. Even Adriel rebelled against his nap. We had a spaghetti dinner and practically right after that Laura and Bethany had to leave. It was sad to say goodbye. My house felt empty. It was a really nice visit. We had lots of fun. I love having sisters around. It's one of my favourite things.
