My Valentines Day
Ok so a certain someone who randomly checks up on my blog, I think, particularly to see if I've been writing things about him, gave me a hard time for leaving out Valentines Day. It was a valid point, because he did some really nice things.
Ann saw to it that I was preoccupied with doing her hair. Then I was leaving Adriel with her overnight-which I love doing, does that make me a bad mom?-and going home to go out on our date with Kyle. I had suspicions because when I originally said to Ann that maybe I'd do her hair the night before, she said that would be ok, but I'd still have to come over for a little while the next day. I thought she had something up her sleeve, not Kyle. She's not good at containing surprises. So I came home and Kyle was trying to act nonchalant. I said "so are we going out?" Ann gave me the idea that he made plans, so I thought maybe he made a reservation somewhere. He was all "yeah, ok. Where do you want to go?" Then I thought maybe he didn't make plans afterall. He went into the kitchen. I followed him and it was dark except for candles lining the table. The table was all set with our fancy dinner ware and at my seat there was a red heart shaped box of chocolates and an evelope with the words Schaweetie on it. Inside was the most wonderful love letter. It was really really really nice. He writes exceptionally nice letters- that's how he kept me his whole mission, but it had been a really long time. And since we're more in love now than we were then, it was so much better. It said some very nice things that I really needed to hear. I cried, but hid it from him, and then he was disappointed because he thought I didn't cry.
Then we ate dinner, which he made. Ceasar salad to start, and a baguette with goat cheese spread and stuffed pasta shells as the main course. It was all really good. Oh and there was fancy sparkling cider stuff to drink. The whole thing was really sweet. Then we watched Nights in Rodanthe, a romance with Richard Gere and Diane Lane. You know it's a special occasion when Kyle rents a chick flick. He doesn't mind them, but usually I fill that need with Katie. It was good although it seems the author, who also wrote the notebook and message in a bottle, had a common theme for all his stories. Sloan was good and slept through dinner and then was awake for the movie, which is fine because he just hangs out, and then we all went to bed. Oh and I forgot, there was cheesecake with fruit on it for dessert, which was yummy. Kyle knows my taste well.
There you have it. That was my Valentines. Kyle and I don't always make a big deal about Valentines Day, but this year was special for some reason.
