Happy New Year!!!
We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. I wish I had the time and energy to write about all of it. But I'll give a few of the highlights:
-Every year Laura and I kick off the season with a marathon day of Christmas shopping in Vancouver. Its sooo fun! This year we both had Bethany, her for stocking me for present. We got pizza with whole cloves of garlic on it, which later we though was eminating from our bodies but we soon realized it was pot someone was smoking in the back of the store we were in. Thats were I found Bethany's new bag. We had to hold ourselves back from the never-ending pull to buy more and more for Bertly. On the ferry home we took some fun pictures which I cant find right now because Kyle redid everything on our computer. I'll post them later.
-Singing in the cantata this year. We sang a lot of messiah songs and it was very challenging to learn. In fact I wasnt sure how we'd sound because it was so difficult and we were struggling with it right up to the week before our performance. It definitely made me appreciate the music a lot more, being a part of it, and how amazing a creation it is. Bethany and I were able to share in our wonderment. And according to those who listened, we did a pretty good job.
-Actually Bethany and I were able to share a lot this Christmas season. On Dec 1st it snowed!! We were so excited because to us, Dec 1st is when the Christmas season really starts. We got the same ringtones for our cell phones. We went Christmas shopping. We went with Dad to pick out the famiy tree and my own tree. The family tree was big and burly and wild and we loved it. Its so nice to have sisters around to do many a fun thing with, and I love having Bethany's company.
-Teaching Adriel about Christmas and watching him open his presents. What can I say, he's just so adorable to me!!!
-The infamous girls party that I usually hold for the sisters inbetween Christmas and newyears. Its a good way to keep the fun going even though Christmas was over. We of course played consequences and I kept them so I could write down some of my favourites:
Giggly, flirtacious
Amy
wearing a big puffy pretzel-mascot outfit with real mustard smeared all over and only pin prick holes for eyes
going over and over in her mind what she should say at her next encounter
met surprisingly innovative
Ben
wearing slacks pulled up under the chest- a cool look in the 50's- but it gave him a pregnant look with his lush round tummy
bending over, trying with all his might to touch his toes
he said" why dont you slap one of those one me?"
she said "Conspirator!" (nasal, melodramatic voice)
they went to the graveyard at the edge of town
where they squished berries with their feet to make juicy wine
the result was late at getting home on time
ANYWAYS Stott looks good in the shirt. It's a Christmas shirt. Merry Christmas ever'body.
Wonderful
Mudsy
Wearing her jogging tights and sporting a sweatband
practicing her "twitterpated" faces in the mirror
met rump-roast faced
Brother shoults
wearing snowshoes and a brand new snow suit
hitting a hard ball into the air
he said "from far away your face looks like a booger! ha! ha!
She said "I like what I see"
They went tumbling down a hill
Where they sat in a stupor and didnt know what to do. No one knew!
The result was they were both another day older and a little wiser, but very very befuddled
Anyways, life was a lot sweeter now.
Scrumptious and very much type A
Grandma B
wearing a bath towel
clenching her bum cheeks together to hold back farts
met dull, drab, depressing
Brent
wearing an open toed black flat with a bow and fishnet stockings with furry man fluff poking thru, and other stuff that's not important
quoting scriptures under his breath and mentally giving himself a pat on the back
He said "What are you doing"
She said "thank you very much"
they went to the museum
where they counted the stars
the consequences were Ernie and Bert
Anyways, Katie should have told us she was pregnant before Rachel or Kimme.
There are more but you're probably getting bored now and I have to get back to my son. I cant help but feel sad that it's all over. Christmas goes by so fast and while you're sitting in the middle of it you wish you could just push a pause button or something because you know it'll be over in no time. All the fun an family are gone as if they were never even here. But now there's Bethany's wedding to look forward to, and lots to do.
