My Birthday Week
Well its been a good week. Sister movie night was thoroughly satisfying, my birthday came and went and was fun, got some shopping done, and my little angel is doing well. Growing into a long chubby boy. He's already an inch longer than when he was born!
This week for sister movie night, Katie and I were once again faced with the dilemna of what to watch. For the past few months we have gotten by on the movies that we own, which was good because there havent been many new release chick flicks. There still arent many chick flicks at the video store. While on the phone with her deciding what to watch, I went on the rodgers website and began browsing. I came across "She's the man" I had remembered seeing the previews for it - a girl who dresses up like her twin brother to play on the boys soccer team. It seemed so dumb to me at the time. But given the fact that there wasnt anything else, and Katie and I arent picky about our entertainment (its rare to find someone else willing to watch anything cheesy as Katie is) we decided it could be fun to watch. It was!! It had some hilarious parts that had us laughing pretty hard. At one point Katie had the laugh where no noise came out. Of course it was extremely unrealistic and slightly predictable, but who cares? It's been a while since I've seen a good funny one. I'd watch it again even.
My birthday started out somewhat slow. The night before Adriel had gotten up every two hours which I wasnt accustomed to, and I had to rush around in the morning cleaning my house and getting it ready for someone to come and look at it. Tracy and I decided we'd go and hang out at mom and dad's while we had to be out of the house. I left before her, yelling up the stairs that I was leaving. She said she still had some cleaning to do so she'd see me there. I knew mom and dad were out of town but I wasnt expecting the doors to be locked. Tracy didnt tell me i would need a key to get in. Adriel was wanting to be fed and i was locked out. I called Tracy-no answer. I waited a while. I called mom and dad to find out there was no other way into the house. I was getting annoyed and feeling grumpy. I phoned Jordan who told me that Tracy was walking there because he had the car. I was going to go and pick her up, but then I realized I could just go onto the belcane and feed him on the swing in the back. Nope for some reasone the door leading back there would NOT open no matter how hard I pulled the string thing. I tried wedging my hand in between the boards. That hurt. I tried hoisting myself up on the ledge. That was awkward and it hurt. finally I decided I would go and get her. Just as I was about to pull out of the driveway she strolled up. She apologized and said that she was so flustered about her cleaning she didnt even think about the key. I suddenly felt guilty about letting myself feel so annoyed at her.
We stayed at mom's for a while. Tracy showered. Then we went to the mall. I was excited to pick up my fist roll of film from the last month of Adriel. However, when I got them the lady told me they were double exposed. I wasnt sure what that meant until I looked at them. Apparently Kyle had put film that was already used in the camera again, so each picture had two different pictures in it and it was all messed up!!! I was so disappointed because it was the hospital pictures when he was first born and everything. Stuff that I cant ever get back again. I dont know how we reused the film, because when film has been used, it usually doesnt have the tail sticking out that you need in order to load a camera. We continued our shopping. We bought diaper bags (matching ones). We both wanted a cute bag that could be used as a diaper bag, but wasnt really one. We found one that we both liked at a baggage store. It's kaki green. Mine has the over flap thing, and Tracy's doesnt- hers has a zipper which was a must for her. It has many compartments that will fit things like bottles and baby food when the time comes. Im sure Katie will insist I dont need such a large bag, when she sees it, but hey, not everyone can make due with a fanny pack. I also bought an outfit for Adriel's blessing, a baby monitor and part of Kyle's birthday present. We had lunch and that was nice. Once home, I fed Adriel and put him to bed and settled down for a nap of my own. He didnt sleep long. When we woke up Kyle was home. He gave me my birthday present- it was really pretty earrings. They're swarovski and they're real crystal. I like them. I've never had really nice earrings before. We got ready and went out for dinner. I didnt know kyle had planned a surprise and he invited everyone to come. We got there fifteen minuted after he told everyone to be there, and there was only one person there. Leah Hobbs. I was ok with that though, I dont like being the centre of attention. Everyone showed up after that and it was fun. My friends from work even came. I have a good husband. The service was terrible. And that was my birthday.
