It's been a long time, I know. Not as long as some though. What can I say? Life has been busy. Last week we went to a family reunion in Yakima Washington for Kyle's side of the family (obviously). We went with Adam and Ann, so it was a full car. It was a LONG trip. Ann in her planning decided that it might be easier for us to drive to victoria and take a ferry from there to Seattle with the new baby and all. So she researched it all and phoned and booked reservations for us to go on this ferry. Well once we showed up to the place in Vic, we learned that there are no vehicles on the ferry, it was just for walk-ons!!! So then we had to drive to shwartz bay and take the ferry to Tswassen instead. This was a huge set back, because not only did we drive an unnecessary two extra hours, but we had an hour to wait in the baking sun for the ferry, and then a six hour drive once we got to the other side. Luckily Adriel was such a good boy the whole way, he didnt really give us any trouble. He slept most of the time, and I fed him when we stopped for gas, and if he ever got fussy, he was easily satisfied with a soother. Yes, I introduced him to the soother this trip, and it proved quite useful.
We stayed at this lame little campsite in the middle of no where. We shared a tent trailer with one of Kyle's cousins and their three children. It was nice of them to share with us, but it wasnt totally ideal because there wasnt a lot of privacy for me, and although I've gotten used to my boob being out in the open, I dont really like sharing it with just anyone, especially males. It was sort of lonely for me. Kyle would go off with the guys and do guy stuff, while I would be confined to a chair with my nursing baby, and sometimes there werent a lot of people around. His family isnt nearly as big as ours. I would get frusterated with him at times because I needed his help and there was no way of getting his attention.
It was SOOO hot while we were there. The first day we went to someone's private pool, and it was nice to cool off. It was my first time in a bathing suit since having adriel and i wasnt looking forward to that, but I was so hot I didnt care at the time. Plus, no one could see me while I was in the water. Adriel was so sweaty that i thought he might like to cool off in the pool. Yep, I was wrong. He was shocked by the cool water (it wasnt that cold, but it must've been to him) and screamed and shrieked. Poor little guy. That night there was a talent show and then we went to bed. Kyle said to me as we were going to sleep "Im sorry my family isnt as fun as yours." I told him that wasnt true, that mine was just different and he knows everyone well and stuff- while deep down thinking "of course mine's more fun!-no family could be more fun than ours."
The next day was pure torture. It was incredible hot as the day before was, but it was also humid, which apparently is a rarety in those parts. It was unbearable to be outside, especially trying to nurse Adriel under a BLANKET!!! We ended up leaving in the middle of the day. Everyone left. Adam went with an uncle, which gave us more room. We drove to Seattle with plans of staying there for the night. Once we finally got there (it took a long time because Kyle took the scenic route but we DID get to see Mt. St Helens which was cool) we looked for a place to stay. Motel after motel after motel was full. They said everything in the area was full. At one place, Kyle stayed inside and with the help of a receptionist found a motel with a vacancy. It was a cheep dump in a small town. At that point we had been driving around looking for about two hours. By the time was ate and got into bed it was about 11pm.
The next day we did some shopping at Bellevue square. It was brief because Kyle is brief. I got some victoria secret body lotion and spray (they smell SO good!!!) and Kyle bought a shirt. We ate lunch and drove home. It was nice to come home- to have privacy again, to have a break from Ann. She is so in love with Adriel, she wants to be around all the time. I cant blame her, he is getting cuter and cuter everyday.

I dont know what's up with the weather this week, but it's not very summery. In fact, there are times I feel the need for long sleeves. *gasp*
Ironically, I almost never get the chance to sit down at the computer anymore, and when I do, I have no idea what to write about. Not a lot goes on at my house. When Adriel's awake, Im feeding him, when he's sleeping, I do too. While Im feeding him, I watch Friends. Im going through each season in order. We just finished season one before he was born. Im already on season four. Once im done going through the seasons, I dont know what I'll do.
For the past few days, I've been thinking "maybe today I'll go and do something" like go to the mall and find some shirts that actually fit me right now. But taking him places is such a daunting task for me right now, especially without the help of Kyle, that I scare myself into not doing it. What if we get to the mall he just wants to eat? Or, if he's sleeping, then I feel as though I should be too, and the things I do instead usually make me feel guilty because I know I'll regret it later when Im exhausted and he's awake. Everyone told me to enjoy sleep while I had it.
Anyway, I hope it doesnt sound like Im complaining, because I love being Adriel's mommy, and I think he's the cutest little boy in the world. He's a good baby too. He doesnt cry very much, he lets out squaks instead. Of course, if I left him long enough, he would cry. He has such a cute pouty face too.

Well my life has been pretty busy lately. Busy taking care of baby. Of course. I knew it would be, and Im ok with it, but I admit there have been times that have brought on tears of frusteration and loneliness, and many other emotions.
Adriel is doing well. He's starting to fill out a bit. He's still really tiny, and the past few days have brought on the "eye goop." Is there anything one can do about eye goop? Im still trying to get him used the bassinet, because I get a way better sleep when he's not in bed with me, although he is really cute and fun to cuddle with. He poohs all the time!!! And there's a fifty fifty chance that it'll leak onto whatever he's wearing too! ha ha.
Our anniversary was nice. Ann and her friend came over to watch Adriel while we went out for dinner. He slept the whole time, and didnt even need the milk I pumped for him. We went to the The Glow -supposedly one of the nices restaurants in town, and also highly priced. It was ok. I wasnt that impressed, considering all the talk I'd heard. It was nice to go and try it out, but I doubt we'll go back anytime soon. When you're paying a high price for your food, you sort of at least want enough to make you full. Oh well. We rented a movie, but then I was too tired to stay awake, so we've been watching bits and pieces through out the past few days.
Im going to go and eat...
