Agreed with Addlebuns
Acker-the-backer-mone was right, its time for another post. A Happy New Year to all of you. I think its going to be a great year and Im excited. Of course I have obvious reasons to be excited- its the year of my baby. 2006. Weird. Weird to think of what it will be like to be a person born in that year. I was born in a totally different century. Anyway, I had a nice New Years time.
We drove up to Courtenay with Steve and Leah, to have new years with her and her family. It was a fun little exhibition. We stopped at walmart and m&m meats for some wingy and other treats on the way. We actually didnt end up eating them though...Once we got there, I felt a little overwhelmed and shy and out of place. Kyle and Steve went downstairs to play on the game cube right away, and Leah was busy taking care of Lindy all the time that there were times when I was left to fend for myself, and I felt awkward. I have to at least have one person I know to feel comfortable. Her family was friendly and nice though. Lots of aunts, uncles and a few cousins. Once we started playing games, I felt more at ease and less shy. The real Sarah came out, I had nothing to hide. I learned some new games and they were fun. I felt like we just kept playing game after game after game. I'd look at my watch thinking we must be close to new years and realize we still had about three hours. Kyle and Steve didnt stay downstairs forever and they joined in the games. It was sort of split up. The older aunts and parents played their own games, and the younger aunts and cousins and us played our games. Perhaps thats what made it feel less daunting. We went to bed at around two-ish I was exhausted by that point and it was nice to fall asleep, I was so comfortable in Kyle's arms, and that doesnt happen every night.
We slept in quite late and had a yummy egg mc muffin (homemade) brunch and prepared to go home. I was sort of sad it was over so soon. We parted ways with Steve and Leah in Parksville, and stayed at Ann's house until it was time for dinner. We watched The Ice Princess with her. Kyle and her had never seen it. I quite enjoyed it the second time around. Got choked up at the end, and I think I did the last time too. I was expecting Kyle to find it a little corny, but afterwards he said "that was a good movie" I said "yeah, I got choked up at the end" and mentioned something about how it was even easier to do while pregnant. But Kyle said "yeah, I did a little too." I was surprised. Kyle gets choked up? That doesnt happen. Well according to him it does a lot, and its not visual outwardly. ha ha.
I have been getting addicted to my Gilmore Girls season. In the back of my mind I always want to watch more. Its amazing to me how much Rory has changed since the first season, when she's so shy about boys and sort of plain looking, pretty still, but a little plain. Unfortunately, when I opened the case for the first time one of the discs was loose. The way it's set up is, its like a clear plastic book, with a dvd on each page. Well it turned out, the one that was loose wouldnt play because of scratches. So I took it back, a little worried they wouldnt exchange it because it was already opened and I didnt have a receipt. Well that wasnt a problem luckily, and so I went home with a new one quite happy and content with myself. I opened the new one to discover that THREE were loose, and all three of them had even worse scratches than the first!!! How frusterating! While, yes the clear plastic book thing DOES look cool, the plastic part that goes in the middle to hold the dvd in place wouldnt grip the dvd's well enough and once they're loose, they scrape against it, and it makes ugly mean scratches. This time Im going to open it in the store and make sure they're all ok. Enough nonsense.
